DOE Awards $12.8M Contract at Savannah River Site

Montana-based S&L Logistics has received a $12.8 million fixed-price contract to provide project scheduling and cost estimating support services for the Savannah River Site, the Department of Energy announced on Friday. The contract’s base period is one year, followed by four yearlong optional extensions, according to a press release.The company, which is owned by the Confederated Salish and Kootenai Tribes of the Flathead Nation, secured the contract through the federal Small Business Administration Section 8(a) program.The Savannah River Site hosts a number of operations, including plutonium storage, environmental remediation, analytical laboratory research, and the planned Mixed Oxide Fuel Fabrication Facility, which would be used to process surplus weapon-grade uranium into reactor fuel.
