DOE ADDS TO CONGRESSIONAL AFFAIRS LEADERSHIP

By ExchangeMonitor

Following the Senate confirmation earlier this month of Brad Crowell to lead the Department of Energy’s Office of Congressional and Intergovernmental Affairs, DOE Secretary Ernest Moniz announced yesterday three new members of the office’s leadership team. “CI will have two Principal Deputy Assistant Secretaries (PDAS), one for Congressional Affairs and one for Intergovernmental and External Affairs,” Moniz said in a message to employees yesterday. “These leaders will continue to aggressively engage with Congress while raising our game with state and local leaders and key energy stakeholders.”

Christopher Davis, the Deputy Assistant Secretary for Congressional Affairs, will serve as acting Principle Deputy Assistant Secretary for Congressional Affairs. For Intergovernmental and External Affairs, DOE has brought on Alice Madden as Principal Deputy Assistant Secretary. She comes from the University of Colorado, and was formerly the Colorado State House Majority Leader. DOE also has brought on Jaime Shimek as Deputy Assistant Secretary for Senate Affairs. Shimek was previously Senior Policy Advisor for Sen. Patty Murray (D-Wash.)
