Jacobs-led Four Rivers Nuclear Partnership is less than two weeks away from the end of its five-year base period of its potential 10-year, $1.4-billion Deactivation and Remediation contract at the Paducah Site in Kentucky.
The five-year base, which began in June 2017, is set to expire June 19, according to the latest DOE Office of Environmental Management contract chart, last updated on May 11.
As of late Monday, there was nothing on the SAM.gov government procurement website to indicate DOE has exercised the three-year option yet. After that, the agency also holds a two-year option as well, which could stretch the Four Rivers tenure out to 10 years.
The DOE did issue a request for information/sources sought document for cleanup alternatives at the Paducah Gaseous Diffusion Plant site in February 2021, but never followed up with a draft request for proposals on potentially replacing Four Rivers.
The DOE deemed Four Rivers overall work “satisfactory” during fiscal 2021, according to the fee scorecard for that period.
Four Rivers, which is made up of Jacobs, Fluor and BWX Technologies, won the contract in May 2017.
