Deadline extended on Nevada Clean Energy RFQ until tax day

By ExchangeMonitor

April 15 is the new deadline for potential developers of carbon-free energy projects to respond to a request for qualifications at the Department of Energy’s Nevada National Security Site.

Sunday March 31 was the prior deadline for responses to the request for qualifications (RFQ) announced March 1 for clean power projects of 200 MW or more at the National Nuclear Security Administration site in the Nevada desert, about 65 miles outside of Las Vegas.

DOE announced the two-week extension in an online notice last week.

As part of its Cleanup to Clean Energy program, DOE has identified a 2,000-acre block at the Nevada National Security Site suitable for solar power. Selected developers will be expected to sign an easement or real estate agreement with the federal government.

Any projects will be subject to National Environmental Policy Act requirements.
