CLARIFICATION

A headline in the Oct. 25 edition of GHG Reduction Technologies Monitor (“Alstom’s U.S. Head Calls for Carbon Price”) did not accurately reflect the comments made by Alstom’s U.S. President Amy Ericson in the story. In a speech last week, Ericson did not directly push for a carbon price, but instead more generally called for a financial framework to be put in place to help encourage private investment in CCS demonstration projects. GHG Reduction Technologies Monitor regrets the error.

CLARIFICATION

An article in the Nov. 22 issue of GHG Monitor concerning an analysis Bloomberg New Energy Finance performed on the California Cap-and-Trade Program incorrectly stated that the California Air Resources Board did not adjust its raw emissions data. The assertion was based on a BNEF statement released alongside its analysis of CARB’s report of 2012 emissions, which BNEF later corrected to say that CARB did in fact make an adjustment to its figures. However, BNEF said its main point that California emissions have stayed relatively flat, indicating a “larger-than expected oversupply of credits,” remains unchanged.
