CHBWV EARNED 31 PERCENT OF AWARD FEE IN FIRST HALF OF FY’13

By ExchangeMonitor
West Valley Demonstration Project cleanup contractor CH2M Hill B&W West Valley, LLC, earned about 31 percent of the total award fee available from Aug. 29, 2012 through Feb. 28, 2013, according to an award fee determination scorecard recently posted by the Department of Energy. The contractor earned $100,000 out of $327,427 in available award fee during that period—significantly less than the 60 percent of award fee earned in the second half of FY ‘13, which DOE released early this month.

CHBWV’s evaluation for the first half of the fiscal year would have resulted in the contractor earning $65,485.40 in fee, but several mitigating factors taken into account boosted that to $100,000 according to the scorecard. That includes improvements in its safety culture through “Beyond Target Zero” teams, performance improvements in areas including project management and safety and health and the use of corporate reach back. The evaluation comes after a tough FY 2012, where CHBWV only earned about one-sixth of available fee.
