CH2M HILL TO GET FIVE-YEAR EXTENSION TO HANFORD CLEANUP CONTRACT

CH2M Hill Plateau Remediation Co. is set to get another five years to perform cleanup work at Hanford, the Department of Energy announced yesterday. DOE said it plans to exercise the full five-year option in CHPRC’s contract, which is set to run from 2013 to 2018. The value of the extension is estimated to be approximately $2.2 billion, according to DOE. “We determined CH2M HILL remains the best value to the government on the basis of price and other factors,” said Matt McCormick, manager of the DOE Richland Operations Office, said in a release. “Extending the contract ensures continuity in cleanup as we finish major projects over the next five years.”
