B&W TECHNICAL SERVICES GROUP ABRUPTLY CHANGES LEADERSHIP

By ExchangeMonitor

Babcock & Wilcox announced Nov. 12 that George Dudich has been named President of B&W Technical Services Group, replacing Bob Cochran effective immediately. The exact circumstances of Cochran’s departure from B&W Technical Services remain unclear, though the company said in its release that he left to “pursue other opportunities.” For his part, Cochran said he was not terminated from B&W, describing his departure instead as “a mutual parting of the ways.” Cochran told WC Monitor Nov. 13, “It’s not something that popped up overnight. …. It was time for me to take a look at a change.” He added, “My time at B&W was very, very good. … I have nothing but good things to say about my time at B&W.”

Cochran also praised his successor, saying that he felt “instrumental, in some respects, in his coming to B&W.” Dudich previously served as B&W’s Senior Vice President for Business Development. He rejoined B&W last year after serving as Senior Vice President of Business Development URS’ Global Management and Operations Services Group. “George is one of the better business development [executives] in the industry,” Cochran said. “I know he’ll be very successful.” Cochran said he is “exploring options” for his next career move, including potentially “supporting B&W in some capacity.” Cochran said, “I’m evaluating all of my options. … I’m very excited about this industry.”
