By ExchangeMonitor

Babcock & Wilcox’s Nuclear Operations Group has been awarded a $366 million contract to provide nuclear material for the National Nuclear Security Administration’s Naval Reactors program. The material will be used in the assembly of nuclear propulsion components at the company’s Lynchburg, Va., facility. The company said $75 million of the contract has been allocated this year, with the remaining funding spread out through 2019. “B&W is pleased to continue serving the U.S. Naval Reactors Program in support of producing quality products while reducing costs through this new contract,” B&W Nuclear Operations Group President Peyton Baker said in a statement. “Our Company’s role in supporting the U.S. Navy’s nuclear fleet’s mission is a source of immense pride for our workforce.”
