AVANTech, a Columbia, S.C.,-based radioactive and industrial water treatment solutions provider for the Department of Energy and commercial nuclear markets, said this week it recently completed expansion of its business development staff, by adding or promoting five managers.
Tammy Monday joined AVANTech in January as vice president of business development for government services, working out of the company’s Knoxville, Tenn office. Monday, who has over 30 years of experience, including much work with hazardous waste streams, held prior management posts at Studsvik and Perma-Fix Environmental. Monday is active on waste issues with the Energy Facility Contractors Group (EFCOG) AVANTech said in a Tuesday press release.
Robert Hastings joined AVANTech’s Richland, Wash., office during January as director of strategic development for government services. A chemical engineer, Hastings has over 35 years of DOE and contractor experience at the Hanford Site in Washington, where he was formerly the agency’s tank farm project manager.
Michael Reed, a chemical engineer who has seven years at AVANTech, moved to business development last year and was recently promoted to director of business development in industrial services in the Columbia office, according to the press release. Reed has over a decade of experience in the development and operation of water treatment and chemical facilities.
Aaron Johnson joined AVANTech as director of business development – media services in 2021. A chemical engineer, Johnson has more than 20 years of experience with large companies such as E.I. Dupont and DOW Chemical, and has also worked as an independent consultant, according to his LinkedIn profile.
Dean Phillips returned to AVANTech’s Columbia office in September 2021 as director of business development – government services. Phillips has over 10 years of experience and has worked for both DOE and the private sector. Phillips has previously worked for AVANTech as a mechanical engineer and project manager.
“The expansion of our team is a key strategic move for AVANTech,” designed to help grow government and industrial sectors, said Gary Benda, AVANTech’s executive vice president, in the release.
