Washington State Recognizes Hanford Contractor

The state of Washington has recognized Hanford Site tank farm contractor Washington River Protection Solutions for recruiting, hiring, and promoting individuals with disabilities. It received an outreach award on Tuesday from the state’s Division of Vocational Rehabilitation. “We’ve put together a highly skilled, safety-conscious workforce at WRPS by focusing on abilities rather than disabilities,” said WRPS President Mark Lindholm in a statement. WRPS has more than 2,000 employees, including 123 who have self-identified their disability status. WRPS posts job openings with organizations such as Deaf to Work, Enable America, Think Beyond the Label, and the United Spinal Association, as well as with colleges focused on students with disabilities. It also works with the Division of Vocational Rehabilitation to encourage people with individuals to apply for positions.
