Department of Energy debriefs were held last week for the $45-billion Integrated Tank Contract at the Hanford Site in Washington state awarded recently to a team of BWX Technologies, Amentum and Fluor, sources told the Exchange Monitor.
As a result, any bid protest should be filed with the Government Accountability Office (GAO) early this week, sources said. Protests must typically be filed within five days after the debriefs, sources said. That would translate to the end of day Monday.
As of 8 a.m. Monday, no notice of protest was posted on the GAO website. The decade-long contract, which fuses management of Hanford’s 177 underground tanks of radioactive waste with eventual operation of the Waste Treatment and Immobilization Plant, was awarded April 13.
In addition to the three partners, the Hanford Tank Waste Operations & Closure team also features teaming subcontractors DBD, Inc., DSS Sustainable Solutions USA, INTERA and Longenecker & Associates.
The losing team is widely believed to be led by Atkins; sources have told the Monitor.
