ANOTHER KEY PERSONNEL DEPARTURE FOR AMWTP CONTRACTOR? ITG SAYS NO

By ExchangeMonitor

Contractors at the Department of Energy’s Idaho site have reversed course on another possible key personnel change that would have impacted Idaho Treatment Group, LLC, the managing contractor for DOE’s Advanced Mixed Waste Treatment Project. Earlier this month, Battelle Energy Alliance—the managing contractor for Idaho National Laboratory—announced that Scott Raish, who currently serves as ITG’s Business Manager, was set to return to his position as director of the lab’s Project Management Office early next year. However, BEA has subsequently issued another notice, announcing that Raish would be staying with ITG. “Scott is a Vice President with ITG, serving as the Business Services Manager. He is fully committed to ITG and carrying out its mission at AMWTP. Since it began work at AMWTP on Oct. 1, ITG has safely sent 35 shipments of transuranic waste to WIPP,” ITG spokesman Rick Dale said in a written response yesterday.

To date, ITG has already moved to replace two of its initially proposed set of six key personnel on the new AMWTP contract. Late last week, less than a month after officially taking over as the new AMWTP contractor, ITG announced that its Project Manager, Dan Swaim, was retiring and would be replaced by Richard Raaz, with the change to be completed by the end of the month. Even before completing transition, ITG had to replace its plant manager after its first candidate for the position was unable to transfer to the project.
