By ExchangeMonitor

The Air Force Nuclear Weapons Center on March 30 reorganized its structure, creating an Air Delivered Capabilities Directorate, a Nuclear Technology and Interagency Directorate, and a Ground-Based Strategic Deterrent (GBSD) Division within the existing ICBM Systems Directorate, according to an Air Force announcement yesterday. Air Force Program Action Directive 14-06 dictated the changes, geared toward improving operations and life cycle management in the Nuclear Enterprise across Air Force Materiel Command, Global Strike Command and United States Air Forces in Europe. The ICBM Systems Directorate comprises the GBSD, Minuteman 3, engineering, operations, management, program control and product support divisions.

The Air Delivered Capabilities Directorate comprises Strategic Systems, Nuclear Weapon Systems Integration, Outside Continental United States Support, Nuclear Weapons Acquisition, Cruise Missile Sustainment and engineering divisions. Finally, the Nuclear Technology and Interagency Directorate comprises intelligence, weapons effects, analysis and enterprise modeling, nuclear command, control and communications, nuclear systems assessments, materiel integration and program development, surety and certification, and nuclear weapons divisions.
