AECOM Exec Promoted to Business Development Post

By Staff Reports

Los Angeles-based AECOM has promoted longtime manager Ron Hahn to the newly created job of executive vice president of business development for the company’s Management Services group.

Hahn, who most recently served as executive vice president for critical infrastructure protection strategies, is now responsible for generating growth in AECOM’s federal government business line, including the Energy and Defense departments.

Hahn started at his new post in November, company spokesman Keith Wood said by telephone.

“Our Management Services group continues to experience unprecedented growth opportunities and our new strategic growth organization will strengthen our focus on leveraging these opportunities into long-term strategic growth both domestically and internationally,” said John Vollmer, president of AECOM’s Management Services group, in a press release.

AECOM said Hahn has worked on defense industry issues, both in government and the private sector, for about 34 years. While with AECOM, Hahn has also led electromagnetic spectrum issues, which included work on cybersecurity and electronic warfare concerns for federal clients.

Before joining AECOM in 2010, Hahn spent more than four years as deputy director of the U.S. Strategic Command’s Joint Electronic Warfare Center, according to his LinkedIn profile. He served 20 years in the U.S. Marine Corps. The profile also described him as an expert in electronic warfare threats who has advised numerous government entities, including the Senate and House Armed Services committees.

AECOM is a major vendor in the Energy Department weapons complex, leading waste cleanup and management contractor teams at the Oak Ridge Site in Tennessee, the Waste Isolation Pilot Plant in New Mexico, and the Separations Process Research Unit in New York, among others.
