ACTING UNDER SECRETARY SANDALOW TO LEAVE DOE

By ExchangeMonitor

Acting Under Secretary of Energy David Sandalow will be leaving the Department by June 1 to take a job at Columbia University’s Center on Global Energy Policy. Sandalow, who also serves as assistant secretary for policy and international affairs, is among a number of officials to leave the under secretary slot in recent years. The previous acting Under Secretary Arun Majumdar resigned last May, and he took over for acting Under Secretary Cathy Zoi in March 2011. The position has not been held in a permanent capacity since Under Secretary of Energy Kristina Johnson resigned in September 2010. Sandalow will join the Center on Global Energy Policy as a fellow June 1 and will stay until May 31, 2014, according to a release from Columbia University.
