A year out of the merchant biz, Entergy announces slate of executive changes, promotions

By ExchangeMonitor

Entergy Nuclear this week said it promoted several executives to new roles at reactors in Arkansas and Louisiana and at corporate headquarters in Jackson, Miss.

Joe Sullivan was appointed site vice president at Waterford 3 Steam Electric Station in Killona, La., replacing John Ferrick who will become fleet vice president of outage services at headquarters. Sullivan was most recently site vice president at Arkansas Nuclear One in Russellville, Ark.

Doug Pehrson will be the new site vice president at Arkansas Nuclear One. He was previously general manager of plant operations there. Brad Wertz will backfill the general manager role at the plant, which is located about an hour-and-a-half northwest by road from the state capital of Little Rock.

Meanwhile, Mandy Halter, general manager at Waterford 3 in Killona, La., will also head to headquarters to take on what Entergy called a “company leadership role representing the nuclear fleet.” Dave Oertling, currently will replace her as general manager of Waterford 3. He was most recently the regulatory and performance improvement director at the Gulf Coast plant, located about an hour-and-a-half southeast by road from Baton Rouge.

The company announced the changes Monday in a press release.

Entergy’s fleet is down to five plants after the company in 2022 exited the merchant nuclear power business by selling the Palisades Power Plant to Holtec for decommissioning.
