A Pro2Serve company, Enterprise Technical Assistance Services, is the incumbent small business on the job. Its contract, currently valued at $179 million, began in April 2020 and is scheduled to run through March 2025.
DOE said the winning contractor will provide technical and administrative support for oversight of contracts for all sorts of environmental, construction and operational work at the sites. The new contract will cover the two former gaseous diffusion plants — including depleted uranium hexafluoride (DUF6) operations. It also includes support services at the Lexington, Ky., project office.
Bidders should identify five key managers, according to the slides. This includes a program manager, project managers at the two gaseous diffusion campuses, a DUF6 project manager and an information technology manager. One of the big chores for the new contractor will be working with DOE on improved cyber security, according to the presentation.
The Portsmouth-Paducah Project Office has a total federal staffing of 73 people. There is a total workforce of 3,700 people, including contractor employees, at the two plant sites. There are 2,400 at Portsmouth and 1,300 at Paducah.
