Cange Again on the Bill for Wednesday’s Nuclear Clean Up Caucus Meeting

Three industry groups will sponsor a panel discussion and reception with officials from the Energy Department’s Environmental Management (EM) office Wednesday on Capitol Hill as part of the next meeting of the House Nuclear Clean Up Caucus.

The topic of the evening panel discussion, which begins at 5 p.m. Eastern time, is: “EM’s Cost Reduction Initiative.”

Scheduled panel presenters are:

  • Susan Cange, acting assistant secretary of energy for environmental management.
  • Stuart MacVean, president of Savannah River Nuclear Solutions.
  • Doug Shoop, manager of DOE’s Richland operations office.
  • Sandra Fairchild vice chair-elect of the Energy Facility Contractors Group.

The event is sponsored by the Energy Facility Contractors Group, the Energy Technology and

Environmental Business Association, and the Nuclear Energy Institute (NEI).

Lawmakers invited to attend include Caucus Chairman Rep. Chuck Fleischmann (R-Tenn.), Co-Chairman Rep. Ben Lujan (D-N.M.) and other members. Though not specifically mentioned as guests in the sponsors’ announcement about the event, other caucus members include Rep. Dan Newhouse (R-Wash.) and Rep. Joe Smith (R-S.C.).

The discussion and reception, a widely attended gathering, is slated to run from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. in the Rayburn House Office Building in Washington.
