The energy Department’s Oak Ridge Office of Environmental Management is seeking volunteers to fill vacancies on the Oak Ridge Site Specific Advisory Board.
The board is a federally chartered citizens’ panel that provides policy recommendations about legacy nuclear cleanup at the Oak Ridge Reservation. The deadline for submitting applications is March 15, DOE said in a press release.
The Oak Ridge board has up to 22 members who “are chosen to reflect the diversity of gender, race, occupation, and interests of persons living near the Oak Ridge Reservation,” DOE said. Board meetings are open to the public.
Technical expertise is not required for board membership; terms are for two years, and members may serve up to three terms, DOE said. Those interested can apply online at at www.energy.gov/orssab or by calling 865-241-4583 or 865-241-4584.
